Orr Fellows and Net Literacy Partner for Community Service Computer Drive

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 by Katie Lindahl
To keep the spirit of service alive in Indiana, through the Orr Fellowship, we have teamed up with Net Literacy, a local non-profit whose mission is to empower student volunteers to make innovative use of technolgy to serve surrounding communities. We will be helping the organization with a county wide computer drive. The event takes place on Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

You can find the Orr Fellows at the following locations:

Carmel City Hall
Fishers Train Station
Noblesville City Hall
Westfield City Hall

People from the surrounding areas will drop off gently used computers, laptops, monitors, and keyboards at these locales so that Net Literacy can refurbish them and donate back to the community. The computers go to local non-profits who are looking to build or expand existing computer labs. Orr Fellows will be there to help serve and continue to bridge the digital divide in Indiana!
